Washington D.C. –Today, January 4, 2023, U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock, Democrat for Georgia, took the oath of office. This is his first full six-year term in office. Prior to this election, Senator Reverend Warnock was elected to the U. S. Senate in a special election to fill the remaining two years of the late U.S. Senator Jonny Isakson’s term (R-GA), resignation.
Before taking the oath of U.S. Senator, Senator Reverend Warnock participated in a swearing-in ceremony celebrating incoming members of Congressional Black Caucus. After this ceremony, Senator Warnock proceeded to take the oath of office on the U.S. Senate floor administered by United States Vice President Kamala Harris.
Following that oath later in the day, Senator Warnock hosted a reception in the Kennedy Caucus room. During that reception Senator Warnock thanked Georgians for making their voices heard and highlighted is continuation commitment to serve families in every corner of the state.
“I’m filled with sheer gratitude today as I begin my first full, six-year term serving the people of Georgia in the United States Senate,” said Senator Warnock.
