Quitman—After 30 years of customer service working with the local Brooks County Coastal Plains Farmers Coop, Inc. and helping farmers around the area, local Veteran P.D. Duncan has retired.
Prior to his employment with Coastal Plains Farmers Coop, Inc., P.D. Duncan worked as a coach for Westbrook High School that closed down in 2000. Westbrook served the communities of Dixie and Brooks County for several years prior to serving students 1st through 12th, beginning as a one room school.
P.D. continued to serve Brooks County by volunteering to coach little league football. Several previous players remember P.D. being one of the hardest but best coaches.
P.D. Duncan also served in the U.S. military and now serves voluntarily through the Brooks County Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). As a VFW Veteran, P.D. visits the hospital and carries the patients a vase of flowers with his favorite saying, “The nicest place to be is in someone’s Thoughts! The safe place to be is in someone’s Prayers! And the best place to be is in GODS HANDS.”
P.D. will continue to help serve local Veterans and their families through the VFW but says it was simply time to let the rest go.
P.D. Duncan, a local Brooks County citizen, coach, volunteer, and Veteran can now relax just a little bit thanks to his Retirement with Coastal Plains Farmers Coop, Inc.
Congratulations on reaching this milestone!
