Morven, GA—North Brooks Elementary School (NBES) is one of the two elementary schools in Brooks County, GA and sits in the small town of Morven, GA. Students in grades K-5th attend here and this bunch of students were thrilled to enjoy a couple hours of dancing, eating, and socializing with friends, family, and teachers at this year’s Winter Family Dance.
Children of all ages took to the dance floor with friends and family with laughter and giggles being heard mingling with the music being played. Students became very comfortable being on the dance floor with neon necklaces, low lights, and loud music. Many gathered to make a circle allowing other students to take on a dance challenge. Many of these students could be heard clapping, yelling, and laughing to show support of the one dancing.
Parents, grandparents, siblings of all ages came together to watch their NBES students and to dance with them. Many teachers, family members, and older siblings joined them all on the dance floor to have an amazing amount of fun. Dances seen included line dancing, break dancing, shuffling, and yes moves like the “worm” were also seen.
DJ Cain, Mrs. Cain, NBES music teacher also showed families what the kids had been learning on the dance floor while in class. The K-2 danced as other groups left the dance floor and groups 3-5 took to the dance floor next. Songs like Baby Shark, Cotton Eyed Joe, The Mississippi Cha Cha Slide, Cha Cha Slide, The Git Up, and so many more blared for the kids to dance too.
NBES Facebook posted several pictures of the students and families taking advantage of a fun dance at the school. The said, “The annual Winter Family Dance was the place to be tonight! It is always great to see so many families and community members at school having a great time. Everyone was there to lend a hand so the students could turn their dance moves up to an Eleven! With DJ Cain in control, you know it’s going to be fun! We can’t wait until next year!”
Several attendees of the night commented on their post with some hearts, likes, and smiley faces. Other comments included how much fun everyone had, and what great pictures were taken.
