The City of Morven was absolutely slammed with visitors from this year’s annual Peach Festival held on May 20th. Visitors turned out in the hundreds weaving between vendors numbering over 60 this year. The parade that began at 2 p.m. was thrilling for those who watched. Children gasped in delight as jeeps, buggies, lawn mowers, motorcycles, horses, and more threw candy to the side. Loud cheers were heard as folks heard revved up motors, blaring music, and spin outs from the parade’s participants.
Vendors enjoyed seeing the many visitors as well selling their goods. Several vendors offered a variety of goods including a large choice of many foods like fresh fish, shrimp, ice cream, floats, sausage dogs, chicken wings, chicken plates, and more. Other vendors offered handmade signs, vases, bags, purses, hair accessories, soaps, and unique clothing. Picture booth was available and pony rides were too.
Warm but comfortable weather was a bonus for those who attended. Calm winds, mild temperatures, and sunshine with an abundance of shade in the park offered a relaxing atmosphere. DJ played a variety of music where many enjoyed some dancing and laughs.
Mayor Hill was very pleased to see so many attending the event and seeing the many vendors there as well. Organizers were also pleased and sent a profound thank you to all the vendors who participated in this year’s event.
If you missed this year, don’t miss the next one next year. The Morven Peach Festival is always the third Saturday in May. You can find further pictures of the event and parade on here.
