Brooks County Trojans takes a tough blow from Echols County. Thursday was a long day for the Trojans, falling to Echols County 14-3.
Brooks County got things moving in the first inning scoring 2 runs when Matthew Ferrell doubled. Nolan Harrell, Dallas Leverett, and Ferrell each collected one hit to lead the Trojans. Leverett also had 1 RBI.
Ferrell took the loss for Brooks County. The righty surrendered 11 runs (4 earned) on six hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Jaxon Smith pitched one-third of an inning allowing 1 run. Harrell also pitched one inning allowing 2 runs.
Next game is at Georgia Christian in Dasher on Saturday at 4pm. Next week starts region play for the Trojans. We have Irwin County coming to town on Tuesday (3/14) and then the Trojans travel to Irwin for a doubleheader on Friday (3/17).
