Brooks County—On Tuesday, March 26, 2023, the Brooks County High School’s drama class hosted their encore of the “One-Act The Play that Goes Wrong”. This was the second performance on this play and it was greatly loved by all who watched it.
The Play that Goes Wrong was a smashing hit for everyone who loved to laugh. This particular play is a play that is presented to the audience as one of working stages to produce another play called ‘Murder at Haversham Manor’. The set is displayed here is one where the show is set in a 1920’s décor but not fully functional. However, the show must go on and while the actors are portraying one act for one play, background workers are consistently trying to fix the unfixable problems of not being completely set up.
Therefore you have a murder with a moving corpse, murder mystery, and of course disasters that befall the actors and stage. Pure mayhem attacks the actors and set with one thing after another. The show must go on even with the mishaps, so the audience gets to see a bit more than just one thing happening. The lights and sounds had to the mayhem and cause gut clinching laughter from the audience.
BCHS actors were:
Tristan Wall as Chris/Inspector Carter, Samuel Barrera as Robert/Thomas Colleymore, Larissa Maldonado-Ramos as Sandra/Florence Colleymore, Katelynn Rogers as Annie/Florence Colleymore, Juanita Justo as Dee/Perkins, Arianna Reddick as Max/Cecil Haversham, Asher Griffith as Jonathan/Charles Haversham, Leah McMullen as Trevor, Alyssa Tillman as Ensemble, Brianna Browning as Ensemble, and Jada Robinson and Dewayne Hazzard as understudies.
