A local citizen reported a stolen vehicle on Saturday, August 27, 2022, and asked on social media for help in finding the vehicle from friends, and family.
Many friends and family members shared that post on several social media sites throughout the night and next day.
On August 28, 2022, a report of a break in and thief on property came through of a local citizen at their home resident along BCT Gin Road in Morven. That local family caught the thief stealing personal property before the suspect fled the scene family members, but not before the family were able to slow his flight. The family informed the officer once there what he was driving and the way he went.
Witnesses state that after the officer pulled up behind him flashing lights the suspect pulled over. The officer stepped out of his vehicle to go to the suspect when the suspect once again fled from the law in the vehicle taking another dirt road.
Further down that dirt road, the vehicle jumped a ditch and went into a field where the vehicle became stuck. Officers were there and able to arrest him. The suspect was running from the law in the stolen vehicle reported the night before.
Officers arrest the suspect and now have him in Brooks County Jail awaiting charges. An investigation is being conducted. Further details coming soon.
