Pavo, GA—On December 3rd, the small town of Pavo saw clearer sky’s a was able to continue their annual Christmas Event. This year’s event was titled “Pavo Polar Express w/ Santa” and it was a great success with scours of children running around with glee.
Beginning at 2 p.m. visitors to this event were able to take a ride on the train around the facility and hear the music while seeing Hahira Cloggers perform. For those who wanted a snack, tables were lined up full of home baked goodies including cookies, brownies, ice cream, and punch or apple cider.
Chairs were set up in front of the large stage and children sat to enjoy a wonderful puppet show about Christmas. Children awes could be heard and laughter as the puppet show continued. Outdoors, one could hear laughter and whistle of train as the polar express made its way around the facility taking kids and adults for a ride. More laughter and glee could be heard through the auditorium doors as the snow fell and kids were playing in it.
At 3:10 p.m., firetruck sirens and cop sirens could be heard. To see what was happening children and adults stepped outside to find Santa coming up the road on the back of the firetruck. Children ran to him as he knelt down to get hugs and pats from Santa.
Santa then made his way into the facility to take his place near his workshop and his fireplace. Once there those who were in line were offered a knee to whisper all those Christmas wishes into his ear as parents and family took pictures.
Once done with telling Santa their wishes, they were given a bag of candy by Miss Pavo, Emma Rae Smith, and with helpers of Santa children were able to pick out a toy straight from Santa’s workshop. As they continued on to head for the doors and the snow, another surprise awaited with a coloring book and crayons.
While Santa took children up on his knee for those wishes parents, children and visitors enjoyed hearing holiday music being played by 5-0 Assemble. People sat in the chairs to watch them play live and so beautifully, applauded loudly when they finished.
As the event began to wind down, children’s laughter could still be heard coming from the parking areas.
Pavo wants to thank all who attended this year’s event despite the possibility of rain. They would also like to thank everyone who helped to make this event possible; Pavo Civic Club, Pavo Quilters, Santa, Miss Pavo Emma Rae Smith, Pavo Library, Rocking Roland Rentals, 5-0 Assemble, New Growth Ministries and Hahira Cloggers.
