Brooks County—The year’s municipal elections for 2023 will begin their early voting on October 16th through November 8th. Hours for voting are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays hours will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All early voting must take place at 619 South Highland Road in Quitman, Georgia for Brooks County residents at the Brooks County Elections Office.
Those voters will be voting for several council position including Quitman City Council District 1, post 2 and District 2 post 4. Morven City Council position in Post 3, 4, and 5.
In Quitman’s City Council, Incumbent Lula Smart is running for District 1 Post 2 and Kechia Sloan Harrison for District 2 Post 4. Morven’s City Council runners are Annette Guess for post 4, Danny Johnson for post 3, Billy Smith for post 5.
Election day is held on November 7, 2023, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at your regular precinct. The last day to register to vote for this upcoming election is October 10, 2023, and it is the last day to change your address if needed. Absentee ballots last day must be in by October 27 if by mail.
