Morven Event Committee Hosts Bingo Night

           On Friday night, July 15, 2022, the Morven Event Committee hosted their third Bingo night and what a turnout. More than 40 participants filled the Heritage Room in the Morven City Hall.

           Citizens laughed and talked with one another, and enjoyed the available concession stand filled with treats that could be purchased throughout the evening. Bingo cards were bought for $1 a card. The only limit was how many a person might be able to effectively watch. One ticket per person was given out to the incoming crowd for drawings to be held throughout the event.

 As the Bingo Night began the room grew quiet with anticipation of the perfect number being called out through the speaker system for a lucky winner. 

           At the end of each game, as winners were verified and announced, a spirit of fun spread throughout the room with jokes, smiles, a little bit of light hearted groans, and of course a hearty congratulations to the winners that were lucky enough to yell out “BINGO”. The winning prizes had been donated by several sponsors including the Morven Event Committee. First prize, a rather large lunchbox, was a great prize for those who worked or had school age children. Some of the other prizes included were a grouping of Tupperware, a fragrance candle, a gift card of $50 just to mention a few of the many. Drawing winners received a gift card for various restaurants and for Starbucks Coffee.

           The Morven Event Committee is formed by several volunteers who offer their time to meet and discuss ways to bring more events to the town for everyone. Currently, fund raising efforts are focused on the needs to repair the air conditioning throughout City Hall and the auditorium.  All proceeds raised from these events are going towards that goal.

           The next Bingo night will be held on August 12, 2022 in the Heritage room at the Morven City Hall and at 7 p.m.
