Released earlier this week is a copy of the current 2022 Property Tax Digest and 5 Year History of Levy. Brooks County Board of Commissioners also release a Notice of Fee Increase for the Solid Waste and Fire Service. In the release the Board tentatively adopted to increase two services. Listed is the 2021 rate for solid waste at $192.00 per can with an increase to $216.00 per can for 2022. The Fire Services is listed as:
Commissioner Lee Larko of District 1 posted on his Commissioner Facebook page a copy of the Budget for FY2023. In that Budget Summary the FY2022 budget is shown along with the FYTD over/under and the proposed FY2023 for the county. The following budget is shown below.
There will be another public meeting in regards to the mileage rate increase on August 17, 2022 at 6 p.m. The Commissioners will go into Executive Session after that meeting where the citizens of the entire county can voice their thoughts and concerns on this increase. It will be held at the Brooks County Court House in Quitman, GA. All citizens are urged to attend.
