VALDOSTA, LOWNDES COUNTY, Georgia – South Georgia Medical Center (SGMC) Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), Valdosta Firefighter Department (VFD) personnel were summoned on Monday. A 2-year-old child was reported to have fallen out of a vehicle. The event was reported about 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 15th.
Despite no visible injury to the child, the SGMC EMT’s immediately began to provide first aid to the child.
As the EMT’s examined the 2-year-old, the Valdosta Police Department (VPD) began investigating the incident. VPD Officers determined that Frank Feacher (19) of Valdosta was driving a vehicle north on Bemiss Road. His passengers were his three (3) children, who were sitting in the backseat in car seats.
Feacher made a left onto Inner Perimeter Road. As he made the turn, the back door of his vehicle opened and his two-year-old, who was in his car seat, fell out of the vehicle. The child landed on the roadway. Thankfully, the 2-year-old was still in the car seat.
A VPD Officer inspected the car. That officer determined that the car seats inside the vehicle were not properly secured.
SGMC EMTs transported the 2-year-old to South Georgia Medical Center (SGMC), where he was treated and released.
On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, VPD Officers presented arrest warrants for Feacher. With warrants in hand, VPD Officers met with Feacher at his residence. He was arrested without incident and charged with:
