Community services organization welcomes news members to board of directors
Valdosta, Ga. – The Coastal Plain Area Economic Opportunity Authority (CPAEOA) is pleased to announce the appointment of new leadership to its Board of Directors, conveying positive and continued momentum toward the organization’s commitment to serving residents living in its 10-
county service area, which includes Ben Hill, Berrien, Brooks, Cook, Echols, Irwin, Lanier, Lowndes, Tift, and Turner counties.
Travis Johnson, a local pastor and community leader, has been appointed as the new chairperson of CPAEOA's Board of Directors. In addition to Johnson's appointment, CPAEOA welcomes two new board members, Algenard Bryant and Shelton Smith, who bring invaluable expertise and insight to
the organization.
“We’re excited about our newest members who bring fresh perspectives, energy and enthusiasm about fulfilling our mission in serving the needs of families in each of the many communities that our organization serves,” said Dr. Tanya Thomas, Executive Director, Coastal Plain Area Economic Opportunity Authority. “We are looking forward to working collaboratively with CPAEOA’s board members, our dedicated staff and our invaluable community partners to continue assisting those in need with impactful services, such as Head Start early childhood education, food and aid for families facing challenges, and the Energy Assistance Program among other federally funded resources that enable families to improve their lives.”
